 My style of massage is based primarily on a foundational knowledge of Anatomy and Physiology paired with effective, skilled, compassionate treatment to give you relief from pain and help you experience optimal function. Massage Therapy is ultimately a conversation between therapist and client and also between your muscles and nervous system... together we will tailor a massage that will be effective for you and focus on helping you feel better. 

I am trained in a variety of modalities including:
Swedish Massage, Neuromuscular techniques, Deep Tissue techniques, Trigger Point techniques, Myofascial release techniques, Prenatal massage, Acupressure, Mu Xing (Bamboo Bliss), Reiki and more. You can click on the "Services & Rates" and "About Me" pages to learn more about each of these techniques, my massage practice perspective and a little about my education. 

Unless we discuss otherwise, my sessions are usually an integrated approach, using some or all of these techniques to help you feel better!

This winter I am offering both cupping and Mu Xing again! Cupping is negative pressure that has proven to lower inflammation markers and for some people is deeply relaxing and effective at treating very tender tissue, or nerve related issues, especially in the back. I do dynamic cupping which means the cups are usually moving and do not leave dark bruising like stationary cupping.  Mu Xing (Bamboo Bliss) is the use of heated wooden tools, Bamboo and Rosewood, that melt away tension and are so cozy and comforting on a winter day! I often incorporate one or both techniques in my sessions, at no extra cost, if we discuss the benefits and you are interested...There is no extra charge! If you decide you really enjoyed the treatment and want more time with these modalities then you can purchase an add-on to your massage in the future.  

One massage can provide much needed relief, while regular massage can help maintain your body and prevent tissues from becoming hardened and becoming a source for chronic pain and dysfunction. Massage can also promote a more balanced mental state by providing us with the time and space to breathe and allow our thoughts to slow down...
